For decades nations have been stuck in a balancing game between industrialization and environmental protection. Nations around the globe have enabled companies that release fossil fuels into our atmosphere, discharge waste into public waterways, and use non-biodegradable materials. While these methods are by far the most convenient for developing and developed nations, they create pollution that can decimate organisms, especially specialist species that have adapted to narrow habitats, and limited food resources. However, polluting our environment damages humans as well. Water pollution can carry illnesses like Typhoid, Cholera, Polio, Infectious Hepatitis, etc. This committee will focus on the topics of “Municipal Solid Waste”, “Water and Air Pollution”, and “Funding.” Delegates, as a member of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) it is your responsibility to represent your country’s interests, as well as working towards creating policies that protect our planet. Welcome to the United Nations Environment Assembly.
