The Baudelaire children once led a happy, affluent life with their parents. But recently, their house was destroyed in a fire. The one thing salvaged in the fire was the Baudelaire fortune, which Violet, the eldest of the three Baudelaire children, could use when she came of age. News of this fortune has spread to a very wicked man. His name is Count Olaf, and since the fire, Count Olaf has been scheming to attain the Baudelaire fortune. Following them wherever they go, coming up with new disguises so he doesn’t get caught, killing whoever gets in his way—he has gone to great lengths in order to satisfy his greed. Delegates must stop him before it’s too late and put an end to this Series of Unfortunate Events.
