Following the assassination of JFK, enter Lyndon B. Johnson. Having served as Vice President for JFK, Johnson’s administration proved to be monumental in the history of the United States. Taking office in the midst of the Cold War, the civil rights movement, and further global crisis, his administration and policies marked a stark contrast from that of JFK. His actions- while controversial for the time- helped set the stage for the domestic policy we have today and had an impact we will forever remember. Delegates- as members of Johnson’s administration and other members of the government- you are tasked with collaborating with each other to craft, debate, and even change legislation, in a country so attached to the late JFK, a country in the midst of internal conflict regarding social and civil rights, and a country in the middle of ongoing global conflict.
