From the Secretary General:
Hello delegates!
My Name is Avi Rosenberg, a senior here at Wyoming High School, and I have the honor of serving as the Secretary General for WYOMUN’s tenth year! For those of you who have attended WYOMUN in the past you will see that much has changed not just on our background guides but during our conference as a whole. We believe we have set the standard for high school conferences over the past 10 years and hope that we can raise that standard for this year.
A few of the highlights of this year include our redesigned background guides and websites, new conference activities, fun new t-shirts, and more!
Additionally, we are partnering with national outreach organization New Voters to raise awareness on the importance of voting and getting involved in politics both nationally and locally. You will see and hear more information about them throughout the conference!
I have had the privilege of watching many of our staffers grow throughout their Model UN careers and know that they will serve as excellent chairs and crisis staffers while running their engaging and entertaining committees that they have spent countless hours preparing and refining over the past few months. If you are new or just want some clarification please do not hesitate to ask them any questions that you might have.
I would like to extend a special thanks to the entire Executive Committee and especially our advisor Terryl Meador, both of which have been instrumental in putting on this conference and making sure that everything runs smoothly.
I sincerely hope you enjoy our conference this year more than ever before and bring your best in committee and throughout the conference. Good luck with your research and in debate and I look forward to seeing everyone on October 28th!
Best,
Avi Rosenberg
